![]() The first thing I noticed when I arrived into Japan was the toilets. I went to use the restroom in the airport and was suprised to find that I was unable to flush. I searched around for a while, pushing all the buttons on the "Bidet" style toilet, but "Flush" was not included as one of my options. I panicked. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't just leave it there and walk away. ![]() Finally, I found the flusher behind the lid. The little guy was hiding from me. As I was leaving the restroom, a small hole in the ground was pointed out to me. It was apparently a toilet but I decided to erase it all from my memory and disregard the whole experience. The whole occurrence was the first of many to come with my stay in Japan. My trip here, however, could not have been made possible without the Ando family. They took me into their home and loved me unconditionally, just like any parents would do to their own child. They made me feel more welcome in their home than I feel at my home in Pendleton. That family has made my trip so much more fun, exciting, and intresting than it would have been without them, and for that, I am so grateful for Chujiro, Fujiko, and Remi Ando.I also want to thank Isamu once again for playing the roll of the dummy in another one of my experiences in Japan. When we did Judo, he was the instructor's helper and modeled for us all just how to get beat up and do it correctly at that. And I must say, that boy did an excellent job. He was one of the reasons that. Judo was so fun for because he let me flip him over my back as many times as he needed to in order for me to get it caught on my camera.. I've made many new friends by coming here to Minamisoma. This place rocks !! |
